Getting to Know You and Sunday Snapshot

Getting to know you Sunday- inspired by LAURA the Purse Blogger- CLICK HERE to link up.

1.If you had 5000.00 to spend on plastic surgery what would you have done?
I'd throw in another $5000 and get my nose, boobs, and any sign of aging done.  If I'm going under, I might as well come out as close to perfection as possible.

2. Do you watch Soap operas and if so what is your favorite and why?
I hate Soap operas.  I watch a lot of news, though. And I still miss Lost.

3. Favorite clothing brand?
I'm not picky when I'm expecting.  Anything comfortable that covers my belly.

4. An afternoon shopping spree at your favorite store or maid service for a year?
I'd take the shopping spree.  I don't like other people cleaning my house- even if they're hired to do it.

5. would you ever vajazzle?
What's vajazzle?  I might if it's fun. Is it anything like Bejeweled?...Hahaha...ok I looked it up and- probably not.  I'm pretty enough down there, thankyouverymuch.

6. Favorite Disney Princess?
Belle.  She's got it all.

7. Last movie that made you bawl your eyes out?
I cry at almost every movie.  Toy Story 3 (we saw it at the drive-in this week) and Extraordinary Measures- both great films.

8. Have you ever broken any bones and if so what?
Yes- my left arm and a cracked rib.  The rib literally hurt every time I laughed. Oh, and I broke my toe just walking too close to my dresser- my husband totally thought I was being a baby about it so I went in and had an x-ray done just to prove it really was broken.  The doctors  couldn't do anything about it- they just taped it and gave me an ugly blue shoe I never wore- but I was happy to be right.

A year ago our foster daughter Dulce married Luis- the love of her life.  Congratulations on your 1st anniversary.  I'm so proud of both of you!

Friday Confessional

Friday Confessional with Glamazon.  Woo-hoo!  CLICK HERE to link up.

I confess:

My children were talking about that 'one time we asked Mom to do it again' today.  They were laughing about embarrassing me.  I am not ashamed of my beautiful children, but that time....well, here's the story....

So we were on our way to California, and we stopped at a gas station.  I took the 2 kids in to the restroom with me so we could all do our business.  I am a super paranoid Mom- I have a hard time letting my kids out of sight in public places so we all herded into the same stall (and not only out of paranoia- they sometimes need help- you Mommies know how it is).  So they do their thing and as it's my turn, I hear a couple of old ladies enter- they are chatting.

It's a 3 stall bathroom with great acoustics.  The air falls silent.  One of the ladies lets. it. rip.

My kids both gasp and look at me.

"What was that, Mom?" asks London (very loudly).

"Nothing," I whisper, and put a finger over my lips.

"Was that you, Mom?!" Nathaniel questions at 100,000 decibals.

I shake my head and mouth the word "No!"

"That was YOU?!" London exclaims.

I am bright red at this point, and so embarrassed I can't even move.

The old lady let's it go again.  Louder and longer this time.

My kids bust out laughing.

"Do it again, Mom!" London says.

"Yeah, do it again!"

"It's. Not. Me." I whisper.  "Be. Quiet."

"Come on!  Do it again!"

More sounds erupt from the next stall.

More laughter explodes from ours.

"I knew it was you Mom.  Do it again!"

One of the old ladies starts laughing at this point.

I'm just thinking 'Why me?'

I flush, get myself modest, and rush London and Nathaniel through the fastest hand washing of their lives before sprinting out of there.

We had a talk about bathroom manners in the car when they finally stopped  giggling.

It's a good thing they are cute, that's all I'm saying.  And, really, it wasn't me.

Sunday Snapshot

London's 'Strawberry Shortcake Splashin' Petal Pool'.

She bought it with her own money, and refers to it by nothing but it's full name.

Quote of the week: Nathaniel

One night, telling stories around the fire pit....

Rich: Once upon a time there was a blade of grass who's name was Sergio. He was different from all the other blades of grass. Do you know why he was so different?

Nathaniel:  He was the only blade of grass with a name?

Oh, he makes me smile!

Here is another good quote:

Anyone who has never made a mistake has never tried anything new.

So True!

Friday Confessional

Friday Confessional with GLAMAZON

I confess:
  • As I write this, my children are still in their pJ's watching Ariel's Beginning.
  • They are watching it in Spanish.
  • I have no idea why.  They don't speak Spanish.

  • I'm addicted to Bejewelled on Facebook.
  • Why did I ever try it in the first place?!
  • I was taught in elementary school to 'just say no'.
  • Why does that become harder to do when you're in your 30's?
  • Nonononononononono. No!
  • See?  I can do it in theory.
  • In real life I'm still a total addict though.  Don't ever try it.
  • This is a terrible Blackberry photo, taken while driving in a snowstorm, but I had to try to get a shot of this lady.  She had a huge wad of toilet paper sticking out of her nose.
Just remember her if you ever think you are having a bad day.
  •  I'm meeting some good friends for lunch.
  • At IKEA.
  • How cool is that?
  • Way better than the mall.
  • I can't wait to see them!
  • I guess I'd better quit blogging and get ready to go.
  • I hope you all have a great Friday :D

I feel like I don't have much to say today.  Just trying to keep it all together.

Trying to enjoy the summer and spend time with my kids.

I'm watching my belly expand and waiting for it's button to pop out like a visual timer, letting me know that Jack will soon be fully cooked and ready come out.

Trying to take deep breaths and focus on the present.

I'm thinking I need to go pull some weeds in the front yard.

I'm thinking I need to keep the pile of laundry in my closet from becoming a mountain.

I'm thinking I need a good amount of rest in between those tasks, because I'm really tired.

That's what's up in the Hendricks' house today.

Fascinating, I know.

 My little snuggle bug.

London always sleeps with her eyes half open like that.  It's kind of freaky.

Bye Bye Beautiful

I sold my beautiful convertible today.

Isn't she gorgeous?
Yes, she is a Michael Scott car.  The Michael Scott car to be exact.  Silver and everything.

My favorite thing about her was the way she smelled.
Super clean.

She just smelled good.
Without a car freshener.

The man who bought her was really nice.  He was tall and thin, with greying hair...maybe 50.  He got cancer and his wife left him, so he was single.  He felt like he needed a fun car.  Why not?  I'm sure the fact that the car likes to go topless won't hurt, either.  I hope the Sebring brings him luck, catches him someone worthy of marriage.

He paid full asking price- not one bit of haggling.  He was so appreciative of the condition my car was in- how immaculate she was.  It made me happy; I know if he's grateful for her being well-maintained he'll probably take good care of her, too.

Bye-bye Beautiful.

You're in good hands.

But I'll miss you.
*Sniff*

Free Fish Tacos For Us All!

Sweet Summertime!

We are loving the warm weather here at the Hendricks' house.

I finally have the faintest little bit of a tan line.
The weeds in the backyard are somewhat in control.

And the kiddos are enjoying our small pool despite the dog slobber additive it contains.

This weekend is only getting better because
if you click HERE you can download a coupon
for a FREE Rubios fish taco, valid tomorrow
(good only in Utah)

Their tacos are the best- they taste like authentic Baja cooking.
And I am crazy-pregnant-woman-craving one.

Also, Saturday is free fishing day in Utah in all lakes and rivers;
take your kids and have fun.

We'll be at Utah Lake's Pelican Bay.

Did I mention I love summertime?  I do.  I love it.
